Communications planning: Diversity & Inclusion work - with Lisa Mulligan

You can't underestimate how important communicating your Diversity & Inclusion plan and actions is within (and possibly) outside your organisation. How do you tailor your messages to your audience and think about the methods of communication?

This could include presenting at meetings, having content on your internal intranet, running in-person and online information sessions, and even communicating externally through your website or social platforms.

We will cover identifying your stakeholders, understanding their needs, tailoring your messages, and having a plan that lays all your work. You will also receive a communications plan template to take away and use.

Ravi is also a passionate #IamRemarkable facilitator, an agile project manager, and a fan of Taylor Swift’s poetry.

Women in Leadership Roles - with Dr Amanda Sterling

Dr Amanda Sterling is a neuroscience-trained coach and business consultant who works with organisations to advance their leadership and gender equity goals through a research-backed approach.

Dr Amanda Sterling completed her PhD at the University of Auckland in 2023. Her research explored the experiences of embodied mothers in leadership, and how those experiences (e.g. of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and care of very young children) could challenge normative ideals of leadership.

Learn about the key points of her research and practical actions organisations can take to open up greater opportunities for the inclusion of women in leadership roles.

Duncan Hewett is an industry champion for the representation of women in business and technology. He is focused on driving actionable results for gender diversity in the workplace and has consistently driven acceleration for women across leadership levels.

He has worked as the Senior VP and General Manager for VMware's business in Asia Pacific & Japan and has previously led IBM's Asia Pacific software business.

He led gender initiatives for women and VMware and through internal initiatives and external initiatives to solve talent problems that also connect with ESG work.

Influencing skills were identified as the number 1 skill needed for Diversity & Inclusion leaders in The Culture Ministry’s latest D&I Salary and Market survey, for two years running, because influencing skills are crucial for driving change and developing an inclusive culture.
