Do you need perspective?
I remember the day well.
The day I found out the incumbent in the global Diversity & Inclusion role in my company, had resigned. Who would resign from such an amazing role? (I thought to myself.)
I applied, and secured that role.
And this is where things went a bit sideways.
Despite looking forward to “making a difference” and “influencing leaders” with Diversity & Inclusion work (and there was lots of opportunity to do this) I wasn’t exactly sure where to start.
So I decided to review the organisations Diversity & Inclusion work, and progress, up until that point.
I think I did a good job too.
I hadn’t thought about how the organisation had implemented Diversity & Inclusion work across the whole company (just the bit I was managing up until that point), and I hadn’t compared the work we were doing to how our customers, our competitors and other companies were doing.
Basically, I was coming in with fresh eyes. This meant I could see lots of things that maybe I couldn’t see if I had been in the job for a while…..
I had perspective.
This why one of the reasons (with much experience under my belt) I offer Diversity & Inclusion audits. A fresh and external perspective delivered by someone who can bring a fresh and experienced perspective can be so valuable.
Maybe you:
Need someone to look at your Diversity and Inclusion goals and performance that forms part of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) work? If you report on this publicly, an external review is crucial.
Work for a company listed on a stock exchange which places requirements on your organisation to meet certain Diversity & Inclusion actions and goals? How do you know if you are doing the right things to comply?
Are reviewing your current Diversity & Inclusion strategy, and would like to ensure your new strategy is future fit?
Want to ensure the investment being made in this work (both budget and people) if effective?
Want to benchmark your organisation against others doing great work in Diversity & Inclusion work?
Would like to know how you compare to a global standard of Diversity & Inclusion work?
If this sounds like something you need, let’s talk.
